CareerTruss ("we", "us", or "our") operates the platform at careertruss.in that connects students with internships and career opportunities. We take privacy seriously and only collect what we need to run the service.

This policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use CareerTruss. By creating an account or using CareerTruss, you acknowledge that you have read this policy.

We collect three broad categories of information:

• Information you give us. Your name, email, phone number, city, education details, degree, graduation year, skills, preferred roles, resume, and links to portfolio, LinkedIn, or GitHub. Employers also provide company name, contact details, and internship listings.
• Information created as you use CareerTruss.Applications submitted, saved listings, statuses set by employers, and messages sent through the platform.
• Technical information. Information such as your device type, browser, IP address, and basic technical and usage information generated when you use CareerTruss.

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and secure your account.
• Help students discover relevant opportunities and help employers review applicants.
• Show employers your profile when you apply to their listing.
• Send transactional emails (application updates, password resets).
• Improve the platform and detect abuse.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your resume or profile to train third-party artificial intelligence models.

We share information only in a few limited situations:

• With employers you apply to. Your profile becomes visible to that employer for the purpose of reviewing your application.
• With service providers. Trusted infrastructure partners (hosting, database, email delivery) that process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
• For legal reasons. When required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.

When you apply to an internship on CareerTruss, the employer that posted the listing can see the profile information you've made available — including your name, contact details, education, skills, links, resume, and any note you send with the application.

Employers cannot see internships you applied to at other companies, saved listings, or applications you never submitted.

Some opportunities listed on CareerTruss may use an external application process. When you choose to apply through an external link, you may leave CareerTruss and interact with a third-party website or service.

Those third-party websites operate under their own privacy policies and terms. CareerTruss does not control how external websites collect, use, or protect your information. We encourage you to review their privacy practices before submitting personal information.

CareerTruss may also rely on third-party service providers for essential infrastructure such as hosting, databases, authentication, email delivery, and security. These providers process information on our behalf to help us operate the platform.

CareerTruss uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for features such as keeping you signed in and maintaining secure sessions.

We may also use analytics or similar technologies in the future to understand how the platform is used and improve the service. Where applicable, these technologies may collect information about your device, browser, and interactions with CareerTruss.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, although disabling certain cookies may affect how some features work.

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active or as long as needed to provide our services.

When you delete your account, we aim to remove your personal profile from public view within 30 days. We then delete or anonymize personal information where reasonably possible, subject to information we may need to retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or legitimate business purposes.

Some information may also remain in backups for a limited period before being securely overwritten through our normal backup processes.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Delete your account and associated personal data.
• Export a copy of your data.
• Object to certain kinds of processing.

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests to protect your account and personal information.

We use HTTPS encryption for data transmitted between your device and our services, access controls, authentication protections, and other reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information.

No system connected to the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If we become aware of a security incident that affects your personal information, we will take appropriate steps to investigate, contain the issue, and notify affected users where required by applicable law.

CareerTruss is intended for users aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

If you believe that a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at founder@careertruss.in. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

You may request deletion of your CareerTruss account and associated personal information by using the available account settings or by contacting us at founder@careertruss.in.

We may retain limited information where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, prevent fraud or abuse, or protect the security of CareerTruss and its users.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the platform.
